No.18 - Return to the 11th Hour, Birmingham Hilton Hotel - 28th - 30th June 2013
Well, this was my second Starfury Convention. Apart from meeting the guests; Catherine Tate, Caitlin Blackwood, Neve Mackintosh, Catrin Stuart, Simon Fisher Becker, Anamaria Marinca, Spencer Wilding, Christina Chong and Gary Russell, I must say that the quality of the event set up, again, was very poor. Apart from Q&A's there was a lot of waiting around and nothing to do to fill the time. Sean Harry who runs the event, seems not to care about what people get up to and doesnt put anything in place, such as stalls/dealers to fill the time. I emailed him months before the event about bringing a TARDIS, but had no reply. He complained about the limited amount of people who came this year, this was probably due to the fact that he realised that more money would have to come out of his pocket, rather than being able to use the money he had made on the tickets. He also charges £15 for print outs of images which cost £2 from Boots, rather than actually having them on the table for free, like at every other event in the world. He Made horrible comments about Colin Baker, when trying to insult someone who was attempting to come to the event, which probably means that less people will now go to the events he hosts. He also said he would never host an event with classic who actors as he didnt like them. I think he is a rather nasty person who is a money grabbing w**nker, and I shall not be going to another of his events.
Other than my rant, it was rather good to meet the guests and meet up with old and make new friends.
We also got to see the longer version of 'The Ice Warriors' which comes out in August. We also spent time at the bar speaking to the annimators and discussing Classic & new Who, which was really good

Then on the Saturday I was up with my friend tom at 6.30 and at the event at 7 to set up the console. It took nearly 3 hours to set it up and I nearly lost the plot, But after everything was all set up there were lots of pictures taken and we had a good laugh. The console got a good response and I had a great time seeing one of my Best Mates again
